"In a way, I am grateful for the sandstorms. They clean up the landscape and rid it of the dead sand worms. I see the sandworms as a kind of guardian. They keep an eye out for the scavengers who would Damage the kelp and kill the creatures that live here. They also provide a good measure of airborne oxygen."
